Priorities: 1. Traffic gridlock is the top concern of Mississaugans. It is a time wasting, nerve fraying, brakes destroying, frustrating menace that costs Ontario $6-billion a year. A solution will require co-operation from all three levels of government. Mississauga’s Mayor must provide strong leadership in insisting on a solution to this problem.
I am a strong advocate for the motorist. I do not share the car hating agenda of some. Locally, we should do everything possible to improve the flow of traffic, like synchronizing lights green on major roads.
I would ban axle destroying speed bumps in Mississauga, I oppose introducing bicycle lanes that would take out lanes. I the proposed building of an LRT down Hurontario. This would mess up an important arterial road. Adding more buses would be a cheaper alternative for those taking transit.
I believe in hiring on merit. I oppose discriminatory “employment equity” programmes. The City of Mississauga should not hire temporary foreign workers nor should we use suppliers who do. We should keep employment Canadian.
I believe in strong leadership that insists on respect for Mississauga citizens and taxpayers.
